The Norwell Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice (NVNA and Hospice) held its fifth annual garden party fundraiser, The 12 – An Evening to Support the Pat Roche Hospice Home on Wednesday, June 19. The charitable event was held to raise funds for the 12-room hospice home that sits atop Turkey Hill near Weir River Farm in Hingham. More than 500 guests were in attendance under a beautifully lit tent, listening to heartfelt stories from employees at NVNA and Hospice, and live music from Paula Cole, winner of a Best New Artist Grammy. The evening raised a total of $250,000. Proceeds all went to NVNA and Hospice, a nonprofit organization. About NVNA and Hospice NVNA and Hospice provides the full continuum of care from home health, palliative and hospice to private pay services (NVNA WORKS) to help patients and families. As an independent non-profit, it also provides wellness and public health services through NVNA SUPPORTS in 27 South Shore communities from Milton to Plymouth. In 2013, NVNA and Hospice purchased and renovated a beautiful old estate (circa 1900s) in Hingham to become The Pat Roche Hospice House. The former summer home of Harvard Law School Dean Ezra Thayer, it offers a true home atmosphere with spacious private rooms/baths, overnight family suites, tea and music rooms, spa/hair salon and family areas including a full-size kitchen, dining room and common areas. About Paula Cole Paula Cole is the first woman in history to solely produce and receive the Best Producer Grammy nomination for her work, “This Fire.” The voice behind Peter Gabriel’s “Secret World Live”, she is also known for her hits “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?” and “I Don’t Want to Wait.” Paula is now a professor at her alma mater, Berklee College of Music, between tours and albums.
